Hi, kinderkate,
I feel for you and your daughter. This is a horrid experience.
Is there anyone available in her neurologist's office to take calls on weekends? If not, how about her primary physician?
Beyond comfort measures such as a quiet dark room, cold compresses, hot tea, etc., there's really nothing we can recommend. That would have to come from a doctor who has reviewed her medical history and examined her.
One option would be to take her to an urgent care center or emergency room.
This is also something to ask her doctor about the next time you see him. He should help you have a plan in place for this happening after hours, on weekend, and when he's on vacation.
If her doctor isn't able to help, it's time to consult a Migraine and headache specialist. It's important to note that neurologists aren't necessarily Migraine and headache specialists. Take a look at the article Migraine and Headache Specialists - What's So Special? If you need help finding a Migraine specialist, check our listing of Patient Recommended Migraine and Headache Specialists.
I know you and your daughter are going through a rough time. If you'd like some additional support, come join our discussion forum. You'll need to register again once there because it's a separate membership database, but you can use the same member name, email address, and password that you used here. I have grandchildren with Migraines, and I really feel for you.
Hope this helps, at least a little,
Teri
