Hi Bea,

This is a really good question, but one that should be discussed with your own doctor because certain prescription medications cannot be stopped "cold turkey" due to possible unwanted side effects. For example, feverfew can may make someone more susceptible to medication overuse headache.

And something important to remember is that "herbal remedies" were mankinds first drugs and still act as drugs in our systems. These "natural" drugs have potential side effects and possible interactions with each other and prescription medications. That's why it is important to talk about this with your doctor before stopping and/or adding any new herbal or over the counter medication.

For Migraine prevention, talk with your doctor about Petadolex, Coenzyme Q10, Vitamin B2, and magnesium. The studies on acupuncture have been mixed, but it might be worth trying.

Does this help a bit?

Nancy
