Hi iskate,

It is possible to have more than one type of Migraine and/or headache disorder. It would be unusual, but possible, to have Basilar Type Migraine (BTM) and Hemiplegic Migraine at the same time, both rare forms of Migraine disease. FOr more information on Hemiplegic Migraine continue reading this article:  Hemiplegic Migraine - The Basics and Basilar-Type Migraine - The Basics.

What kind of doctor do you see? A Migraine specialist is always a good idea for someone who has HM and/or BTM. Neurologists are fine doctors but not experts in Migraine disease because they treat so many different conditions like stroke, MS and epilepsy. Migraine specialists are experts and to see our list of patient recommended specialists you can see HERE.

Good luck

Nancy
