Q: Hello I have just started taking ZONEGRAN.

Hi, Shazz,
I took Zonegran for a couple of years, and it was a big help. It was also very easy to take because I had virtually no side effects from it. Each time I increased the dosage, I had some stomach discomfort for two or three days, but that was all.

Hi, Shazz,
It did take a while for it to start helping. It helped a little bit after I'd been at 100mg a day for about a month, and we went up from there. I stopped taking it because my cardiologist added some other medications that we thought might take the place of the Zonegran in Migraine prevention. They did, but I had to decrease them a few months ago. I'm trying it again now. Just went up to 200mg myself a couple of days ago and am waiting to see if that does it. I'm giving the 200 mg dosage a full month before increasing it again.
Keep me posted on how you're doing? We can try this together.

Ok! That sounds like a plan....Ill be on 200mg till next Monday, then 300mg after that......I am doing yoga three times a week and as much as I enjoy it (the hot yoga kicks my butt) I think it is giving me migraines - I may have to stop it for a month, take it out of the equation, so I can see if the zonegran is helping. Only side effect so far is extreme fatique which I expect to get over and I am bloated which I dont think is a side effect but that is how I have been feeling.

Hi Terri,
How long before it started to help? I started about a week or so ago...Im up to 200mg and I havent had any migraine relief yet, not that Im expecting it, but was just wonderding. Thank you
