The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved the first triptan medication to treat migraines in adolescents. The drug, called Almotriptan, was already approved to treat migraines in adults, but now may be used by teens. The drug's maker, Almirall, has been granted a patent extension on the medication until 2015.
