Eating a small bar of dark chocolate a day may help keep stress hormones away, a new small study has found. In the study, scientists gave a daily, 40 g portion of dark chocolate to 30 people who had either high or low levels of anxiety. Researchers found that after two weeks, the stress hormone levels were reduced in the highly anxious people. The study adds to evidence that antioxidants and other substances in dark chocolate may have health benefits.
