Patients who have osteoporosis are more likely to experience vertigo than their healthy peers, researchers say. In a study of over 400 men and women, scientists found that people with osteoporosis were three times more likely to have vertigo, while those with osteopenia were twice as likely to experience the inner-ear disorder. Experts say that the dizziness of vertigo is believed to be caused by loose calcium carbonate crystals in the sensing tubes of the inner ear. The study's authors say the ...
