How Does Imitrex Work?
Research presented at a recent migraine symposium has shown that the combination-drug Trexima may provide faster migraine relief than Imitrex. The study compared blood levels of sumatriptan, a compound in both medicines, in patients who took Trexima or Imitrex. The peak level of the migraine-fighting compound was similar in both drugs, but patients who took Trexima reached this peak level 53-minutes faster than those who took Imitrex.
