Lyrica (pregabalin) is one of the newest neuronal stabilizing agents (anticonvulsants) available. It's FDA approved for neuropathic pain, some types of neuralgia, and seizure disorders. It's also prescribed off-label for headache and Migraine prevention. An interesting note is that it's the first medication of its type to be classfied by as a Schedule V controlled substance. This classification is a result of drowsiness frequently experience by patients taking Lyrica.
