Magnetic therapy may help ease migraine with aura, a new animal study has found. Scientists studying rats say that transcranial magnetic stimulation therapy (TMS) focuses a magnetic pulse through the skull. Researchers found that TMS prevented neurons in the brain from firing in more than 50 percent of the animals. Experts say further study is needed, but the treatment may one day help patients whose migraines do not respond well to medication.
