Drugmaker Pozen is reporting that a recent trial has shown that its new migraine medication Treximet does not cause genetic damage in patients who take the drug. In the study, Treximet--formerly known as Trexima--did not cause chromosomal changes in migraine patients who took the drug for seven days. Treximet is a combination of the active ingredient in Imitrex and naproxen sodium. It is currently under consideration for approval by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
