Plastic surgeons say that a cosmetic surgery similar to a forehead lift may lessen migraine symptoms. In a recent clinical trial involving 75 patients, 83 percent of the patients who underwent the surgery had migraine symptoms that were reduced by 50 percent. After one year, more than half of the surgery group reported that they still had fewer symptoms. Researchers say the surgery works by incapacitating muscles that trigger nerve branches in the head.
