Exercise may ease migraine pain

Migraine patients often avoid exercise for fear of triggering an attack, but a new study suggests that some types of exercise may ease headache pain. Twenty-six patients took an indoor cycling class, which started with a 15-minute warmup session, a 20-minute higher-intensity session, and a cool down. At the end of the 3-month study, researchers found that participants were able to take in more oxygen. They also reported using less medication and having fewer headaches in the study's final month. Experts say this study offers hope that it is possible to increase physical fitness without triggering migraines.
