Saliva test may determine which migraine drug is best

Researchers in Missouri say they've developed a saliva test that may help determine which type of migraine medicine is best. The test IDs a protein in saliva that can determine whether any existing triptan medication is likely to relieve a patient's pain. Triptans are the most commonly used migraine medication, says the study's lead researcher, but they fail to work for 30 to 40 percent of patients.
