Daily aspirin may harm healthy people

British scientists say healthy people who take a daily dose of aspirin may be doing themselves more harm than good. For those healthy people, the risk of bleeding outweighs the possible heart benefits, experts say. A study of 28,000 patients who did not have heart disease or a risk of heart attack found that 2 percent of those who took a daily aspirin developed major bleeding problems, compared to 1.2 percent of people who took a placebo. However, experts point out that a low dose daily aspirin is still very useful for patients who have vascular problems.
