(Page 2)

National Headache Awareness Week Podcasts:

The NHF is hosting a series of three podcasts to provide additional information about the Seven Healthy Habits of Headache Sufferers:

1.      On Monday, June 4, 2007, Lisa Mannix, MD, Medical Director of Headache Associates in Cincinnati, Ohio and a National Headache Foundation Board Member will provide an overview of the Seven Habits.

2.      On Wednesday, June 6, 2007, Roger Cady, MD, Medical Director of the Headache Care Center in Springfield, Missouri and a National Headache Foundation Board Member will provide an in-depth focus on the first three of the Healthy Habits and discuss the importance of diet, regular sleep, and stress reduction in managing headaches and Migraine disease.

3.      On Friday, June 8, 2007, Dr. Mannix will conclude the series by focusing on the remaining four Healthy Habits. She will discuss how to keep a headache and Migraine diary, making an appointment with your doctor, being a partner in your care and staying educated.

National Headache Foundation Board Member Judy Brown will speak from her personal experience as a sufferer who has lived with headaches for years. Those who are interested in listening to the podcasts can download them at www.headaches.org.

MigraineCast, the weekly podcast about headaches, Migraine, and related issues, will focus the week’s podcast on awareness and incorporating the Seven Healthy Habits of Headache Sufferers into your life. You can listen to MigraineCast at  MigraineCast.com or through iTunes. MigraineCast is produced by Teri Robert.

National Headache Awareness week is a great time to take stock of how headaches and Migraine impact our lives and to revisit or set goals:

  • Are you keeping your diary up-to-date? If not, start now.
  • Is your treatment regimen working for you? If not, make an appointment with your doctor to discuss it.
  • How’s your support system? Take a minute to thank the people who help you and to educate people who “don’t get it.”
  • Visit our forum to discuss headache and Migraine issues and for support.
  • Subscribe to our free email newsletter to keep up with news and information about headaches and Migraine disease.
