A harrowing sign that I've seen before
Every heartbeat sends the pain
Like waves crashing against the shore
Building momentum, stronger, stronger,
Unbearable pain that will not subside
The pain is relentless and I try to fight
But I cannot hold back the tide
I seek refuge in the darkness
Only time will calm the sea of pain.
