A tap on the top of your head, wakens you to a new day
Standing up you feel a sharp rapping.
Walking through your living room, the sun rising gracefully
Mornings were the time of peace for you
As the rapping increases.
Ignoring it, for nothing will ruin this day.
You enter the bathroom,
Tossing your clothing to the side , you enter the shower.
The rush of water, causing the back of your mind to wail
Ignoring it, for nothing will ruin this day
In your room, you stare at the curtain
Keeping your mind set on the daily things
Ignoring it, for nothing will ruin this day
You lean over to wrap the towel over your hair
Keeping the prickles now invading your mind at bay
Now off to breakfast, alone , everyone else was gone
Ignoring it, for nothing will ruin this day.
Spilling the milk into the bowl of yellow rings.
Enjoying the sweetness of a crunchy meal.
Not appreciating the new pains increasing
Ignoring it, for nothing will ruin this day
You’re dressed looking forward for the day
When the full attack arises.
Now regretting ever ignoring the first warning.
Pulling yourself to your room, calling in sick.
Work would have to wait, as you fight a battle
It is a battle that you hope will cease soon
For it always escalated to a war you never seem to win.
