Cindy McCain Speaks Out About Migraine Disease at IHC 2009

(Page 3)

Summary and comments:

It's sad but true that it often takes a very visible, "famous" person having a disease and being willing to speak out and advocate for that disease to get the attention, awareness, and research that it deserves. A perfect example of that is what Michael J. Fox has helped accomplish for Parkinson's Disease.

Mrs. McCain is not only highly visible, she's strong, intelligent, and well spoken. It's also very obvious from her comments that she fully understands and cares about the suffering of all Migraineurs. I love this comment she made in an interview with People,

"I'm one of the millions who suffer. It's time for us to shake things up a bit."

YES! I'm with you, Mrs. McCain, and absolutely ready to shake things up a bit!

I'll be attending the IHC, and I'll have the pleasure of being right there, in the audience, to hear her keynote address and report back to you. Hopefully, Mrs. McCain will continue to speak out and advocate for all of us for years to come.
