need some opinions...

By Scared to ask Wednesday, July 15, 2009

Hello,

I am a 30 year old female.  I had back surgery for a slipped disc about 7 years ago and still suffer from daily pain/sciatia from it, however recent MRIs do not show enough of a re-herniation to cause my pain.  I have always had tightness/pins and needles/numbness across my upper back/shoulders.  In the past 2 months or so I have started to notice some strange changes.  When I tilt my head from side to side, it pops on occasion and causes a electric shock sensation down to my fingers.  My right eye gets blurry once in awhile (I have had 20/15 vision for my whole life) and when I went to the eye doctor, she prescribed me reading glassed but the vision in my right eye is still 20/20.  I have muscle twitches often, especially falling asleep...one so bad the other night I actually almost sat up in bed because my stomach muscles contracted so hard.  I get the sensation to rub my feet together as hard as I can.  Even sitting here I get twitches in different areas of my legs and sometimes hands/arms.  I have started to experience shoulder pain mostly in my right shoulder (actually semi-limits movement) but a little in my left.  I have had some minor memory problems (drawing a blank with long-known facts).  I had an episode of urinary incontinence where I lost about a tablespoon on my way to the restroom.  I was put on 90mg of Cymbalta several months ago for pain and anxiety.  The meds have helped the anxiety but has not even touched the pain.  Can anyone give any advice??  The doc thinks these symptoms are from meds.  I have researched MS and don't want to jump the gun but am concerned.  The only thing he did so far was x-rays.  Could this be meds?  MS??  I don't want the doc to think I am over-reacting so I don't want to ask about it.  Thanks for all the advice.

Have you talked to a Nuero.  Matybe you need to talk to one.  It could be MS, that is not the worst thing in the world believe me, I am a MS suviver.  But you need to know what is going on in order to be able to treat what is going on, and not just taking meds to dull the pain.  Just my opinion.  I have MS pain, but I take no meds for the pain, I take it like a man because, I am crazy that way, not everybody is as crazy as I am, but it works for meWink  sherry/smomdukesKiss

It's scary when things start to go wrong so young.  Tey to be brave enough to persue the answers.  I think the worse thing is to be afraid to ask.  It may not be ANY of the things you suspect.  Unfortunately you have ask the experts.
