There's the kind in the heated room (Bikram or hot yoga) & that's not so good for MSers. Always work at your own pace- a video is great because you can stop and rest as you need it. I'd recommend Gary Kraftsow's DVDs also. This is the kind of yoga I teach and it encouages you to find and work at a breath speed you can maintain throughout your practice & it encourages you to listen to your body & honor that. Those 2 things practiced for the last 2 1/2 years alone have helped me so much in learning to listen to my body with compassion & to give it what it needs rather than arguing. :o) Any questions or concerns along your way- please don't hesitate to let me know- it's what I'm here for!

Monday, July 13, 2009 at 01:24 AMMost definitely! The tools are there. The beauty resides in what you do with them. Just simply being aware of my breath throughout the day has taught me to be present in the moment giving my life a more mindful quality. Also- being someone who always pushed my body to it's limits- breath awareness alone in time has taught me to listen & honor my body. A simple practice that just needs to be practiced. I can fight MS but I choose to fight it smart! :o)
Any questions or concerns don't hesitate to contact me!
