Pushing Yourself Too Hard Could Lead to a Flare of MS Symptoms

Gina Gunkel Health Guide September 02, 2008
  • Well, it’s 4:11AM and I can’t sleep.  And I’m freezing. Arctic cold, actually. It is my own fault.  Last week I went away on an eight day vacation to a lake house in Maine.  It was lovely.  I guess that I wanted to “get away” from everything an...

Wouldn't it be nice if we could all just take a vacation from MS for a week, or a month, or a year?

I am entranced by your image...wow.  I am glad you got to get away and just relax for awhile.  I haven't had a real vacation in so long...I am envious.

Just wanted to say hello and I will be reading more of you!

Thank you for your kind words about the picture.  Laughing  We were guests of friends of ours and I tried to absorb as much of the surroundings as possible.  This picture is at sunset, I went out to the dock with my camera and a glass of wine.  It doesn't get much better than that!

I've done the exact same thing, woken up a few hours after my shot, mystified by my freezing and achiness, and then debating about getting out of the warm bed for the meds. If it's any consolation, though, I would have chosen the moose, too.

      Hi Shauna,

Is that not just the WORST feeling. I'm sorry that you've had that reaction, but was glad that it's not just me.

      Thanks for the reply,

      Gina

Yup, we pay for it, but I do the same thing.  It's kinda like having a blast on the town one night, and then paying with a hangover in the morning.  Ah, the gool old days.  Then again, sometimes even when I've done all the right things, taken the Advil, hydrated till I'm soggy, the Avonex still hits full force, just because it can, I guess. ...

Thank you! Glad that I'm not the only one who likes to suffer from a bit of MS amnesia.
