The Week in Review, June 19, 2009

From the Community:

Karen asks "Has anyone stopped taking Avonex?"  She is looking for advice and experience.  Please chime in.

ladygraycloud says that "The Gates are Opening" especially when it comes to mental health.  "NOTHING is worth taking your life for."  Suzanne, you are an inspiration.

Sherry/momdukes is "Looking For Your Input Please, I Need It."  The challenge of wanting to work and depend less upon disability, but needing to put your health first, is one which is faced by many folks living with multiple sclerosis as well other chronic diseases.  Sherry, do what you need to do to put yourself first.

ladygraycloud says "Good Morning To All - Thank God We Are All Still Here."  A big expression of gratitude for friends who understand and welcome the laughter, tears, and fears.  Just as you are here for us, we are here for you.

metal mike offers "This is a Must Read......" regarding his father working at "Area 51."

StemCells21 leaves us with an article regarding the "status of stem cell therapy for MS."  Please keep in mind that this information has not been checked by any medical professionals here at HealthCentral for accuracy nor verified.

ladygraycloud shares "In Limbo not with DX but with Doctors" and continues with "Asking for Help and Understanding."   Please go read and offer some words of encouragement for Suzanne.

Sherry/momdukes says "Happy Father's Day Pops!!"  She reminds us to be thankful and show appreciation for the men who nurtured us along the way.

bebaviolet has some "Questions" about some sensations and symptoms which she is having.  Maybe you might have experienced the same thing?

Sherry/momdukes discusses "The Changing of the Guards (seasons)" which may be affecting some of us MSers.  Remember to stay cool this summer.

karen follows up with "Time to Change Meds."  She's going from Avonex to Copaxone.  If you have any words of advice, please leave them in her comment section.

From the Leaders:

Lisa discusses her recent adventures in "Bouncing Around: Doctors and Eyes." Not to be too lighthearted about it but I'm in a relapse and today (Friday) is the last of 5-days of Solumedrol.  I'm a wreck as we all are at one time or another.  But this too shall pass.

Merely Me shares "What it's like to have an EEG."  An EEG (Electroencephalography) is primarily used to identify seizure disorders but it is important to know that an EEG in and of itself may not diagnose or rule out seizure disorders or epilepsy.
