MS and flu

Just wondered what your thoughts were on MS and the flu shot....Is it safe to get when you have MS. Is anyone planning to get the swine flu shot? Im debating, it but with all the unknowns about it im scared. Having MS and to think of other complications makes me nervous. Also a question about MS.... I have heard that our immune systems are weakened. Does anyone know if this is true? I guess im concerned b/c it seems like those who have died...

new med.

At my neorologist appointment yesterday I was placed on Gabapentin for the pain in my legs. I have only taken two pills, but am hoping it will help! Anyone have any luck with this medication? We discussed constant fatique but she said they dont like to treat that with meds in less it is absolutely neccessary. I dont know, I guess I will just have to keep dealing with that one. Somedays are better then others and I just pray that it gets better...

starting copaxone

I started Copaxone on Wed. and all I can say is OUCH!!! The initial shot is ok but about 2 minutes after it burns so bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It even hurts a little the next day at the injection site. I actually couldnt even bring myself to take it the last 2 nights. I am disappointed in myself and feel like Im being a baby. Im thinking "how can I do this EVERY day" I am tempted to just let it go with no meds and see what happens But that is scary too....

starting copaxone

Well Ive been off the Avonex for 3 weeks and the freedom of not having to give myself a shot has been great. Ive been feeling pretty good. No more flu like symptoms from Avonex. I gotta tell you I am so tempted to go it alone but my neurologist highly disagrees with this. I know hes right and I may feel good but damage may still be happening and who knows when a relpapse will rear its ugly head. So the nurse is coming a week from today to...

Time to change meds....

Well if youve red any of my posts you know I was having some issues with Avonex...The most devastating being hair loss. I met with my new neurologist yesterday (who by the way is great, im really happy I switched) anyway he said it was fine that I just stopped my Avonex "cold turkey" But I tried to convince him of me trying to go it alone with no meds and he did not think that was a good idea at all for my situation. ( 2 relapses within a month...

Switching meds...

I have been taking Avonex for around three months and I am starting to think it is going to "ruin" my life. I am seriously thinking about either switching to another med. or going it alone(with no meds) for awhile and see what happens. I take my Avonex injection on Friday night and through the night the nasty headache starts and by Sat. I can do nothing but stay in bed b/c of muscle aches, nausea, and extreme exhaustion. The rest of the week I...

Every year at this time I go to the tanning bed for a little color. Now that Ive found out I have MS I am not sure if I should do it this year. My question is has anyone with MS had experiences good or bed with tanning beds? Does it seem to bring on symptoms? I would appreciate any feedback.
