In a recent poll conducted on HealthCentral.com, 75 percent of respondents voted that the artificial sweetener Aspartame does not cause Multiple Sclerosis (MS). But what about that other 25 percent? About one-third of these voters responded that aspartame did cause MS, while the remaining...

I'm disappointed to read this here and also an article in the MS mag about the myth of Vit. D. It's clear that the drug industry has gotten to folks who should be advocating for MS patients.
After experiencing liver damage from MS drugs, I was taken off and took myself off my diet soda and then added 15,000 IUDs of Vit. D daily. My neurologist and family doctor both said that they supported the decision and said they would just wait to see what happened. They stated that both had helped other MS patients even though the drug industry does not want folks knowing this.
In my first year of MS, I was on the meds and had about 4 painful relapses. Since trying this new approach, I have had no relapses and deal with minor symptoms. Upon an MRI imaging just last year, we found that the lesions that had been on my spine are now gone. When I asked my doctor if that was possible she explained that it is possible, but not probable. Even though she had been encouraging me to try a different drug that would not hurt my liver, she now says I should keep doing what I'm doing because it's working.
Four years ago, I also had another doctor (the medical kind, not holistic) tell me she believes that aspartame acts like formaldehyde in certain people's bodies and that she recommends that patients give it up, especially those with central nervous system disorders.
I have little faith in the Food and Drug Admin. who works hand in hand with drug companies. I do trust my doctors and my body as proof. I don't need to wait for the government to catch up with reality. It took them long enough to do so for smoking and other chemical exposure.
Happy to be living a very mobile life without any MS drugs in my system.
