Resolutions and MS -- Question of the Week

By Vicki, Health Guide Tuesday, March 26, 2013
What do you think about New Year’s Resolutions? Did you make one? If yes, how are you doing with that now? The long-time tradition of New Year's resolutions is practiced around the world, usually around the beginning of the year. In my personal blog I wrote about A New Beginning  around...

I am always thrilled, honored, and touched when you quote me or refer to one of my blogs. Thank you so much for doing.

I do have a new song that I am singing this year. I am focusing on (and perhaps doing a little preaching about) my new focus. We all know that there are the things in life that we control and those things over which we have no control. But then there is this whole other category, arena of life that may be more important than the others. That  “arena” has to do with those things that we have influence over.

I cannot control my  MS, but I do have influence over the disease.  I cannot control the results of the elections, but I do have influence over them. I cannot control climate change, but I do have influence. Get the picture?

I do plan on writing more about this on my blog which you so kindly referenced. Again, thank you for that.

Wishing you all the best always.

Hi Michael,

You know I refer to your pieces because I like them. I have refered to your resolution post more than once. From where I sit, you have kept these resolutions and incorporated them into your daily life. That's the idea.

Now, about your new focus, yes, I get it, I think. I am interested to see where you go with this. You mentioned a few of those things we cannot control. This reminds me of the serrenity prayer used by Alcoholics Anonymous. Am I close? The hard part is recognizing what we can and what we cannot control.

I'll be watching you. This is so exciting.
