Thursday, August 20, 2009 at 01:32 PMHi Lisa,
There is a lot here, although I'm sure there is more -- if not now, soon. Things seem to change quickly these days. You always have something to say that spurs me on.
And Stu,
I was going to say you do such a good job of educating MSers yourself, but then I read the next comment. I am glad you mentioned your newsletter, and I will recommend it as good reading.

Thursday, August 20, 2009 at 05:12 PMI just registered it was quick. I do want to mention something that is extremely difficult for me to deal with on websites like this one and Stu's -- the blinking moving adds! It is very hard for me to focus, my vision is always a little blurry, and I have other cognitive process ing problems. I know you need ad revenue. If I'm the only one I wouldn't ask you to address the moving ads. But maybe others will take a minute if they are bothered to let you know. Thanks for all the suggestions. I do yoga type exercise on an exercise ball. OT therapist taught me some good routines.

Thursday, August 20, 2009 at 05:32 PMI would not think that the sponsor banners that we have, that change designs would cause the problems that you say as I have never heard this from anybody in the past.
It's not that these banners are moving, twisting and/or flowing, the information is just changing...
If when reading text found in the middle of the page the few banners information that changes, should not affect you... And they are not in bright colors...
Best,
Stuart

Thursday, August 20, 2009 at 05:49 PMThe warning against snake-oil salesmen is very real. My youngest sister meant well, but tried to convince me to buy a $5,000 piece of equipment to help with my MS. The idea was that germs were causing my MS, and if this machine killed the germs, blowing them up within my body, it would cure my MS. It was hard doing it, but I had to tell her that I would not be checking the wacky idea out.
What I found interesting in Vicky's article was the part on hippotherapy to control pain. It sounds like something I might try, if I could ever get out of bed and the house. I might, and it might be interesting to ride a horse. My companion has done it well, but the only time I ever tried it I could not convince the animal to stop grazing while he was supposed to be riding with me on top. Taught me who was in control.

Thursday, August 20, 2009 at 10:29 PMI can relate to your horse grazing rather than moving. I took lessons twice. couldn't do the English. And, my darn horse took off to the stable. Might have been my boyfriend's horse. At least 30 years ago. But I love horses. Maybe I can find a group that does hippotherapy here in Dallas. But I always need to weigh the cost of driving to a place and driving back for any activity not reachable by the DART metro. Even with the train, the return trip is always the problem.

Friday, August 28, 2009 at 10:16 AMHi David,
Ah, family members' suggestions. It has been suggested to me I have other conditions including chronic fatigue or restless leg syndrome. I will agree with these two, but that's not all. Maybe I just have a conglomerate of syndromes that receive media attention. If only it were so. No one has asked me to buy a germ-removing contraption, though. We know their intentions come from love, so it's okay. At least we get a free chuckle now and then.
In hippotherapy, assistants control the horse so you are safe in that respect. However, getting out of the house and onto the horse might be another matter. It is a great fantasy though, isn't it?
