Wednesday, November 04, 2009 at 08:07 AMHi Sherry,
I am so glad you are interested in contacting your elected officials! Thursday, there is going to be a house party about health care. A message saying you do, or do not support it might be helpful.
When you write, say your name, address, text about your question or problem, and say it will affect your vote.
Write (email) your representative here. If you don't know who your representative is, this site also helps you find out. It can also link you to others, like the Speaker of the House.
Michael and Lisa said it right. If you are a National MS Society advocate, they send emails when something important to MS is coming up along with a suggested letter.
You can look here to see active legislation to see if you want to comment. God luck!

ACTIVISM

Monday, November 02, 2009 at 08:02 PMEverybody, AND I DO MEAN EVERYBODY, needs to become an MS Activist for the National MS Society. (http://www.nationalmssociety.org/get-involved/take-action/index.aspx ) It is easy to do and they provide the info and letters for you to send. It makes a difference. I used to be very involved with my industry trade association and being involved does make a difference.
Theodore Roosevelt said "No man has a moral right to withhold his support from an organization that is striving to improve conditions within his sphere." That is what the Society does for us and what we owe to it........and by the way, it works.
Great question. Thank you for asking. I got on my soap box. No apologies though. ( :>

Hi Vicki, what a wonder and thought provoking question. My anwser is no; I have never written a letter, but I will. Tell me how, and where to find the addresses, it is as good as done.
