Hi Mike,

Welcome.  You've found a place with lots of great folks and tons of support.  I look forward to getting to know you more through your Shareposts and comments.

Thanks, was on another site for a little while, didn't want to argue though, anyway thanks again.

Hi Mike..welcome aboard..I'm Helen

Sorry to hear about your dx....we try not to argue on this sitee; just to  express ourselves.  Of course you will weigh your doc's advise and decide what's right for you.  Try to learn as much as possible about MS in general and your condition in particular.  You probably already know that there are different ways of addressing our illness--some medical, some not.  I suggest considering vitamins (especially D) and diet (take a look at Swank).  I'm on Avonex too but I also into alternative approaches.   Good Luck ! I hope to read your sharepost from time to time

Cool, thanks for the advice,I tried everything before finally giving up and seeing the doctor...zzzz....I have 3 now,my problem is an intense fear of needles, and i'm on avonex right? so much for no needles, diets I stay away from,i'm 5'11" and only 155 lbs so they had to give me little ones to stay off the bone, vitamin d is a given, doctor prescribed them, with no choice,I must take them.

But,on another note,I took 50 mg of prednisone last night, today I am walking MUCH better, but you should only take 10mg for a week right?

Hey...I don't want to intrude.  The diet thing is not really related to weight loss but rather that some food they believe  makes MS symptoms worse.  check out this website:

Nah,I didn't take it that way.

I live on nuts pretty much, with the occasional (sp?) meal mixed in,i'll take any advice you would like to offer,my diet hasn't seemed to help over the years anyway.

Glad that you found us.  Was on another site also, did not like the arguing came here love it never looked back.  This site is filled with wonderful, caring, and smart, and encouraging people.  Time will tell the tale.  I use to walk 4 miles a day, can barely walk down the halls of my home without holding onto the walls, buthey I can make it down the halls with the help of the walls so I do what I do!  I have broken four bones because of my bad kness, but I got plenty more bones so I just keep it moving, itis going to take more than MS to stop me!  Watch out world!Kiss Sherry/smomdukes

Yeah,I remember your name,Time will tell,it may have already,I guess your only allowed to say what the moderator says you can,you know,I have lived my life with no regrets, just trying to live with whats been dealt to me,I am not a blog,i'm not anything but Michael.

Something happened to everyone that has this,we weren't made this way, this is not a normal occurence, not a cold/cough.

I don't want to get involved with peoples political agendas,I just want to know what caused this,i'll keep looking until I find it,you look at the most obvious area you know?

I love Judge Judy "if it doesn't make since, its not probably not true".

Actions speak louder than words.

Nice to hear from you again,"p like me " was a democrats only club,i'm not dem. or rep.

anymore and i'm not an anarchist,i'm just someone with this garbage that I did not cause, its nothing I did, nothing you did, people do what they do,all you can do is sit back and watch the soap opera.

Welcome. I'm kind of new around here too. Waiting for a diagnosis and alternately dreading and looking forward to whatever the docs can tell me.

5/29/09 8:42pm

Yeah, this started with me about 5 years ago,but I hate needles, would not go see anyone unless I was dying.

Now,I wish I had, could have added productive years, well, productive in my mind.

Feel free to ask anything to anyone,it helps to speak with others who have something similiar, and  (I talk alot too <g>) If I have learned anything its that yours is different.

Hello there and welcome to the world of MS.  I am sorry you had to join the club but at least there is a lot of support.

I was diagnosed in the fall of 2007 so I still consider myself a bit of a newbie to all of this too.  It has been one wild trip thus far.

Anyways...feel free to write and ask questions and...I have a question of the week every Thursday...please feel free to chime in.

I am glad you are here and if there is anything we can help with...just give a holler.

5/30/09 11:57am

I can actually answer this in a timely manner, thanks, everyone here seems better than the last site I was on.

Guess I was ready for the argument that never came.

Your not on any drugs? I read your stats, they have me on everything, gotta go back in another week for a new round of whatever they think.

Thats what you get when you only seek medical advice when your appendix blows up?

Self medicating is NOT the way.

May we ask what site you were on?

Nahh...not interested in arguing.  MS is hard enough to deal with.

I hope you enjoy your time here...there are so many wonderful people here and tons of support.

I'll give you a hint,it started with "patients"

It was fine for awhile till they started tell me that nothing Happened to me like I said.

They did a 4 hour head to toe MRI,which I guess is normal, but they also did a spinal tap on me that sent an electric shock across my body, that doesn't happen? at least I was corrected for it.

Its kinds like "well That was me that was there"

Why would I lie right?

Hi Mike,

It's kinda funny.  You never needed to give any hints to me as to what site you were on previously which had so much arguing.  Sherry's been there.  I've been there.  Many have been there before.  I'm glad that you are making yourself home here.  :)

Cool, yeah its like politics and religeon, somethings should not be discussed if you don't know them better.
