Living with my partner and have one daughter

By Jackie Monday, October 06, 2008

I got daignosed with my MS about year ago I was in denial at first but have accepted it now. I'm scared of what lays in the future and how bad my MS will get my daughter I don't think accepts it cause she won't read anything about it. My partner is good and gives me some of my needles and is very supportive.

Hi Jackie,

Welcome to Health Central.  The diagnosis of MS is difficult to come to terms with, not only with the patient, but also for loved ones.  It may take some time before your daughter accepts (or acknowledges) MS in the family.

You'll find many folks here ready to give lots of support.  It is completely normal to have fears of the future.  Heck, I still have plenty of fears but try not to live fearful of the future.

I hope you'll let us all know how you are doing.  The more we share, the more we support each other.  You are not alone.

Lisa

Thank you for responding it really feels good that I'm not alone and that I can share my experiences with other people that understand what I'm going through

Is that a kitty cat you are holding in the photo?

Yeah I hear ya.  It is something nobody really likes to think about when you have MS....the future and all.  I guess like anything else...you take it one day at a time...and try to control those things you actually have control over.  The trick is to find some happiness in our day despite what is going on with our bodies.

I hope you like it here at this site.  There are some great folks here who can answer your questions or just lend an ear when you want to vent or share.

Nice to meet you Jackie.
