I know the title of this SharePost seems a bit clichéd, but if you have read any of my previous articles then you will know how important optimism and a positive sense of control is in the overall portfolio of remedies for MS that I employ.    Let me share with you an experience I ...

Steve,

Thank you so much for sharing this story.  Sounds like a wonderful out-of-body, unexpected experience.  So happy for you that your body is repairing itself and continuing to get better.  Now what activities do you have planned now that the weather can turned to autumn.  Any favorite things to do which are similar to running on the beach, but in colder weather?

Good for you!  As I read your excperience, I thought of my own efforts to improve my walking.  I'm dissapointed that Zenapax will not be an option for me but I decided to give tysabri a try and I also bought a recumbent exercise bike.  I still believe that medication and exercise or therapy will result in better movement...Thanks for sharing

What a great story and I am envious. I too was a jogger and did a 5K almost every morning and 20 miles on Saturday or Sunday. I have readily accepted the physical changes that MS has brought to me, but I do miss jogging. Currently I have not stood or walked for the past 17 months.... but I will stand and walk again. I have purchased a standing frame and am doing PT 3 or 4 times a week and I will walk again. My blog is titled "Perspective Is Everything" (mgerber.blogspot.com)And I agree with everything that you said. Will I jog again? I don't know. But what I do know is that it won't happen unless I believe that it can and do something about it. Just know that today you are jogging for the 2 of us, and probably many others too.

 Michael
