Shirley McClaine  once wrote, "If you want fruit from the tree, you have to go out on a limb."  I have been thinking of this today as I contemplate starting with the drug LDN (low dose naltrexone.)  For those who don't know LDN is a drug first approved by the FDA (in 50mg doses)to help...

Hi Helen, I am not mad at you.  Do what you feel will work for ylu.  There are o clinical trials in my neck of the woods, never is.  Hey at my age I could help someone in the future with MS.  Just keep us posted on your progress.  I am going to talk with my doctor also.  I wish you the best.  Hopefully by spring you will be back in heelsWink

Hey Sherry  Thanx for the words of encouragement.  I'm no spring chicken either but when I read about the 61 yr old heavy-set woman who" got her life back" in just one month, I had to investigate further..that investagation led ne to my decision.  try www.ldn.org to look into this more.

    Hi Tellnhelen,

Someone has been listening.  No, it is not FDA approved, but clinical trials have begun.

In fact, one of my favorite MS researchers, Dr. Bruce Cree of UC San Francisco, has recently completed a small trial what he said was the first patient-funded clinical trial in MS.

For a list of trials look here. To see conclusions for Dr. Cree's study, scroll down to the Clinical Trials in Progress or Awaiting Publication.

    LDN looks very promising.

    Hello Vicki

Thank you for your comment.  I am also familiar with the LDN website.  While clinical trials are important, I am in the position where a decision about my condition/health/life is in the balance.  As the study results found, LDN is safe and may stop the progression of this disease.

I have just returned from the 09 LDNconference where I personally met MSers using LDN with fantastic results.  I am also a member of the ldn@yahoogroups.com and read the stories of LDN users almost daily.  I am excited about my decision to start next month.  Again, thanks for responding.

Sounds like you have done your homework.  Good for you.  I don't think I have heard a bad story about LDN, so good luck.
