You mirror my thoughts and feelings so closely! 

I, too, was always reluctant to have anyone help me. It felt to me like I was a "quitter" if I turned over the reigns to others. Boy, how I suffered year after year hosting all the family holiday dinners!

I guess I've finally wisened up as I make my single dish to contribute to this years Thanksgiving dinner hosted by my sister :)
