What a wonderful and educational article about a topic that we all should be paying attention to. Thankfully we live in a world where the rate of change is occurring at a faster and faster pace with every year. I often say that there has never been a better time to have MS then today.
What do I think about stem cell research? I think that it is fantastic. Personally I do not care whether it is embryonic stem cells or our own stem cells that are used for research if there is an opportunity to learn and create a better future for all of mankind. I have never been a big fan of the CCSVI therapy. But what I loved about it was that somebody was thinking “outside of the box”. That a doctor who was not a neurologist, took a completely different view of the disease and how it could potentially be treated. Hooray for him. Hooray for all of the stem cell researchers.
Do we need more drugs to treat MS? Absolutely, eespecially those that will halt or slow the progression of the disease and improve quality of life. But if there are other medical treatments that will do the same thing, then I am ready to give a big hooray to them as well.
