Looking for an ear

By Gordon Sunday, November 14, 2010

I guess I'm just looking for someone to talk to. I was diagnosed with MS in 1999 and have been experiencing it since 2005. I am not alone in this world, I have a loving wife and son but sometimes I overlook that and feel alone anyway. I'm not sure what I want to talk or hear about but feel I have to start somewhere. My Brother had MS for 12 years so I feel I have nearly 20 years experience with it. I will try to remain positive. If there is a voice out there that also needs an ear.

My name is Marie. I have a husband with MS. He has had it about 9 years now. All in all he is doing well but its not without its problems. I also had a father with MS. He had it my whole life so I feel like you do. Lots of years of experience with it...lol I'm not an expert but I do understand. I may not have MS but I have polio. Have had it since I was a baby. So I so get how life can be unfair. If you need an ear just hit me up. Take care and all the best to you :)..Marie

Hi Gordon,

Welcome to MS HealthCentral.  You've found a place with some truly supportive individuals.

It's wonderful that you are not alone and have a loving family.  But sometimes we do need to turn to others who really understand the situation we're living with.  However, as you know by being there for your brother, our caregivers and loved ones live with these disease as well.

It sounds like you had several years of not much going on with your MS.  Then it's been more active since 2005?  How are you doing now?  Has MS impacted what you are able to do?

I encourage you to fill out your profile so that the community can get to know you more easily.  I'm glad that you are here, and please, bend an ear anytime.  :)
