I have been analyzing and summarizing the medical literature on MS for 10 years now. The evidence is surprizingly congruent: it is reasonable for people with MS to hope for a long and happy life, and even potentially to recover from the illness. There is now an enormous and persuasive literature that...

    Hi George,

Welcome to MS Central!!  I've seen you around on Twitter and have read much of your website.  In fact, in August I wrote a series of posts which gave very basic information regarding Diet and MS.  Your website was covered here.  More posts re: MS and Diet

Perhaps you could share some of your recommendations here with our community.

Can you tell me if I could have MS. I will be seeing a nuerologist in a couple of weeks. An MRI scan of my brain showed Multiple High Intensity White Matter Lesions. My doctor said this could indicate MS, but I need to see the nuerologist. What do you think? Thank you. Julie

    Hi Julie

Your neurologist is the best person to make a diagnosis, with all the information on hand. This MRI pattern is commonly seen with multiple sclerosis, but he or she will probably want to do more tests. It is helpful to know the diagnosis early, if it is MS, as you can do something about it quickly, and hopefully stay well.

    Best wishes

I appreciate your feedback. May I ask with what this MRI has revealed, which is multiple white matter lesions as I stated, do you feel my odds are leaning toward having MS. I am a strong person and can handle anything, but I would like to be prepared when I go to see the nuerologist. Is it normal for a 43 yr. old woman to have "High Intensity Multiple White Matter Lesions" in the brain? I have read it is not. I will wait on your response. I do apprecaite your insight. Thank you so very much. Julie

Your reply has come up as from 'Anonymous' rather than Julie. It is probably best I do not reply unless I am sure who I am talking to.

    Best wishes
