Inspirational

By Kristin Wednesday, October 28, 2009

As some of you have read in my past posts, I participate in the Bike MS here in DC which is a 100 mile 2-day ride in the foothills of the Shenandoahs. (O.K. so I haven't actually ridden 100 miles since 2000, but I usually eek out about 25 - 30 without training so I think that is pretty good)

My husband just forwarded me this link I thought was so inspirational in a matter of fact way that I wanted to share it with everyone. It is about an 80+ year old woman who participates in the Bike MS in NJ. She rides because she can and that is the view I have when I participate in the Walk MS & Bike MS. I know I am very lucky to have my mobility so I use it to raise funds.

Here is the link:

Enjoy.

Kristin,

That's a great story!!  I'm so glad that you have shared it here.  Amazing what some individuals are able to accomplish and so inspiring too.

You also inspire me with all that you do.  I really do hope to see more that you choose to share here.   I, for one, really enjoy it.

Hope that you and the girls are doing well.  :)

hello kristen .. so good to see you are still able to get about .. me also .. have been away but still had your subscription here ..

i have not gone on any shots yet , but am seriously thinking about it now .. it's been 9 years already .. had one relapse i am aware of but have developed more pain ..

i sought out treatment right away as last year i began to get a burning/numb/pain in my left hip that , well, you probably have heard about this from others here ..

i have been struggling with myself about taking copaxone .. i got a little scared and correct me if i am wrong , but i read in an article that taking any of the ABC"S et al .. sometimes leads to almost a resistance and you have to keep stepping up .. in between , in this study, the persons develop a more severe progression ..

well, i got scared , simply been treating symtoms and am doing okay , however having this "new" symtom got me thinking should i or shouldn't i ?

I know it is up to me .. but i just returned here and to FL and it has been on my mind .. reading your posts almost always lifted me up ..

the last time i read one was when you were taking time off as you were going to step up in meds (shots) .. so i was wondering , honestly now, how this has worked out for you ?

i always did my own research, still do , but hearing others helps as well , and i trust your words .. so if you are inclined to reply in any way, shape or form .. that would be nice ...
