It seems fairly drastic to suggest spinal cord stimulation for pain relief in MS,in a brief and general article.Patients should be aware that the complication and failure rate is high and good pain control frequently unattainable without narcotic help. Please do your research carefully prior to seeking invasive and expensive surgical treatments!!! When taking pain pills prescribed by a responsible MD,the rate of addiction is only 3.3% statistically, rather than risking an implanted battery thats leaking or broken leads causing multiple surgeries.

As for steroid treatment, please be sure the risk/benefit ratio is explained in detail prior to use. Although a 1st line treatment, steroids often fail, exposing the patient life-altering disease, such as Avascular Necrosis. After 1 course of steroids,I needed 4 major joints replaced and am worse off than I was with myelitis and MS. Please be careful, get multiple opinions prior to treatments and educate yourself to be your own best patient advocate.
