Yoga Yikes!
Suzanne
Tuesday, July 08, 2008 at 12:08 AMDear One!
I'm a Viniyoga teacher in Seattle with MS also. I have benefited greatly from learning to use yoga as it serves me best with my MS symptoms etc. I've learned how to listen to my body ( tired, weak, in pain) tell me what it needs then to use yogic tools- breathwork & meditation are parts of the yogic whole- to give my body what it needs to feel better ( restoration, strength, confidence ). Unfortunately- I too have had the disheartening experience of walking out of a yoga class or immediately pushing stop on a DVD because it wasn't right for me! Yoga is a fantastic thing to add to an MSers life when added with that individual in mind!
I plan to teach this to the MS community where I live in Seattle but my hopes are that I can reach many many more MSers specifically to teach YOU how to make YOUR yoga practice serve YOU!!! I've started a blog as a resource for students & friends- it's not specifically for MSers but is hugely beneficial in learning about how to make yoga work for you!
For more see: http://yogaempowered.blogspot.com/I loved your articles!
Any questions- please ask!
So nice to "meet" you!
