Cobra is a joke, and a bad joke on the American people. When you lose your job you don't have the money to  pay 700.00 to 1000.00 a month for insurance!!!!!!  Real people can't afford Cobra, its past time for real change of these horrible laws that make it harder for Americans to get and keep even fair health coverage.

The only true benefits of Cobra go to the insurance companies and

    greedy goverment officials.

The sad part is that even if you CAN afford COBRA, it is limited to a fairly short period of time. I agree that much has to change. People diagnosed with chronic illness are not given a fair shake.

Interestingly, if I worked for the federal governrment, say as a member of congress, I'd be sitting pretty. That's our tax dollars at work...

    Thanks for chiming in.

Thnaks for bringing this information our way Mandy.  It does seem that our tolerance for programs like COBRA has expired and Americans really just want what is fair and right.  So maybe we are getting closer to that happening.  I'm going to try and stay positive.

Folks may want to take a look at our material for help with Insurance.

    All the best, sue
