It's the foot wiggle. That’s my MS “tell.”
I'm not talking about the big changes brought about by MS. I'm talking about the tiny, seemingly insignificant things.
I could be watching television, talking on the phone, or reading a book. With one leg crossed ov...

Thursday, July 17, 2008 at 07:24 AMHi Mandy - good post ... I found that it is my speech hat is my tell .. people who see me also see the cane , but aren't sure why .. but when I get fatigued or stressed my speech goes and my thoughts come out backwards sometimes ...
I have not experienced too much of the symptoms as you, although I get spasms and cramping , and often am wobbly , mine is not so noticable as the motions you describe .. as when I do feel fidgety , I do stretching ... and walking helps .. thanks for sharing ... Adrian

MS "tell"
Jen
Friday, July 18, 2008 at 02:46 PMHi Mandy---
Oh my gosh--- the foot wiggle thing is funny! I think I'm the reverse of you. I shake my leg when I'm anxious, usually when my symptoms are acting up. I also pace when I have disturbing symptoms (except fatigue or weakness.) My husband can tell by these things that I'm antsy about the MS. When I sit peacefully on the couch or at the dinner table, he knows I'm feeling okay. I've also heard that fidgeters tend to be slimmer because they burn off more calories. One time I was pacing a lot during a relapse and I'm sure I dropped a few pounds!

Take care,

Mine is that I can tell you who is likely to win Design Star, what the latest gossip is about Paula Abdul, the best type of kitchen counter to install to raise the value of your house, and how much a 3-bedroom house will cost in Maui. When my MS is acting up, I hit the couch and watch reality shows and HGTV for hours. When I'm feeling fine, I rarely watch TV, especially in the summer when the sun is out so late.
But when fatigue is hitting me hard, I become the reality TV expert.
