    I have gotten over the embarrassment of needing to use my handicapped placard.  There are times when it truly is helpful to limit distance walking, for endurance and safety.  If I am feeling fine, then I welcome a little longer walk.  But if things are moving with great difficulty, well, somebody needs to show that those handicapped spaces are still needed. Wink
