Marijuana itself has long been a controversial subject. From the 1936 film Reefer Madness to today's push to legalize the use of marijuana for medical purposes, marijuana continues to fascinate and mystify. MEDICAL MARIJUANA

I'll start with the fact that I live in Israel. As far as medicines, the FDA and laws we could be the 51st of the United States.
One wonderful thing that happened here is the approval of medical grass. The needy patient must get a letter from a specialist, in our case a neuro, which is sent to a professor (whose specialty is in mental health and has used MJ with psychotic and schitzophrenic patients with excellent results) who reviews the recommendation of the treating dr and then approves or doesn't approve the use of grass for the patient. If approved, the patient receives a license to use and or to use and grow marijuana for personal use.
I am lucky to have a neuro who is willing to take a chance. With his help I received a license and have been using MJ for the last 5 months. It definitely relieves the pain of spasticity and helps me sleep better at night.
Since I do not want the tar and other leftovers of burning this plant and I am not a smoker, I bought a "vaporizer" and inhale the vapor that comes up when the herb is heated for a few seconds over a flame. I find this method suitable and effective.
Good luck to those of you who aren't in places where MJ isn't yet legal.

You've definitely enlightend me today. I didn't know that medical marijuana was legal in Israel, nor did I realize that you could use a vaporizor to get the benefits without the smoke. It sounds as though your system has some checks and balances, keeping the best interests of the patient in mind.
Thank you so much for the information. I'm very happy to hear that it's working so well for you!

As an MS patient (diagnosed in 1997) marijuana has made quite a difference to spasticity, pain, sometimes sleep, as well as optic neuritis
Though not a user all the time, if the situation calls for it I find it quite helpful.
It would be great if I could obtain it legally.

I also have found great relief using marijuana for my pain, it also helps with fatigue. I hate feeling like a criminal when I use it, but the relief is worth the risk.
