Cindy PT

By Cindy PT Thursday, March 04, 2010

Hello,

I am a physical therapist who teaches a communtiy exercise class for MS. One of the things the participant's say is, "Wow I didn't know I could do that!"  Given the opportunity to explore mobility and balance in a safe environment individuals find that they can maintain and improve their ability. I challenge you to try something new within your ability this month.

Hi Cindy,

Welcome to MS HealthCentral.  It's great to have a physical therapist participating in our community.  Very good to hear from those who often help us in maintaining our physical abilities or improving them even.

I started PT for the first time last year and found it highly beneficial.  We were initially working on my gait and balance.  We ended up working on my conditioning and endurance.  Not only did I gain strength, I also gained confidence.

So what should I do this month?  Hmmm, maybe get back into the pool and swim a few laps.  And if that is not much of a challenge, I'll make it 9 laps (=1 mile).
