New to Page

By jkrags Thursday, April 15, 2010

Hello I have just signed up on this page, I am not diagnosed with M.S. however I grew up with my Mother struggling daily with PPMS, and finally passing with it in 2001, I am helping to get the word out the general public about this disease in any way I can, I also am always doing whatever research I can about the new finds, Medications and general news about M.S. daily on the internet and in books both from MSAA and DEMOS Publishing, I am looking to find new info or any info from those of you on here that could help me in my daily study of this Disease. I am also considering at the age of 40 to go to the community college here in town and get a degree in Medical Laboritory Technology to specialize in the research of M.S.

Hi jkrags,

Welcome to MS HealthCentral.  I'm very sorry to hear of your mother's passing and many years with PPMS.  Good for you for becoming a strong MS advocate!!  We need as many of those as possible to help spread awareness and understanding about this disease.

You have found a welcoming community of people who living with MS, are being diagnosed with MS, and who care for others with MS.  Hopefully we can help share information and stories to help the community stay strong, too.

I look forward to reading what you will have to share with us.  thanks.

Welcome to our community, sorry about the passing of your mom.  MS is a very weird diease.  It affects everyone so differently.  What affects on does not affect another.  You will find many loving, caring, & informative people here. We all have good days and bad days.  For me  my MS does good, I can no longer walk withou the use of a cane, and with the fatique I have to use my wheelchair in the afternoons.  I have RR or the first kind, I think it is called relasping remitting, correct me someone if I have said it wrong.  Anyway, welcome to our world.
