I've been living with many symptoms for about seven years now and my brain MRI came up clear. My neuro (who I haven't been back to see, nor did he ask for a follow-up) did a EMG and said I have severe carpel tunnel in my right hand and mild in my left. I don't have any pain in my hands, just tingling and a little numbness and weakness. I can still use my hands pretty good just hard to grab things or open boxes at work. I've had the blurred vision, off balance, slurry speech sometimes,((I feel like I'm drunk sometimes when I'm not). I've had nerve pain, weird sensations, itching, and most recently an onsought of cold sores that have kept recurring for about six months. I have asthma and hypothyroid.

Hi Ren,
Welcome to MS HealthCentral. Sorry to hear that you are in limbo, a place which is not fun to be. What are you doing to alleviate the carpal tunnel syndrome? Does keeping your thyroid levels in a good range help any?
I notice that you are in Virginia; so am I. If you are in the Northern Virginia area, I would recommend the Neurology Center of Fairfax. The doctors are excellent.
Regarding your question about cold sores - I don't personally know of any direct connection between cold sores and MS.
