The Night Before Our Christmas

By momdukes Wednesday, December 24, 2008

Twas the night before "Our Christmas"

Twas the night before our Christmas and we have enjoyed our families, friends, and good eats.  Due to the nature of our illness, we are dog tired and ready for a long and peaceful night of rest. Not necessarily waiting on Santa, but silently wishing that he would hurry up and come on.  All of this excitement has just worn us plum out!  It did your heart and soul good to see everyone's smiling and happy faces, but at the same time, there was a sadness deep down in our soul, knowing that we would not be able to participate in all of the festivities. Because we knew that we would have to be smart and reserve some of our "spoons" smart thinking on our part.  Yet we are grateful for this time with our family and friends, seeing the smiles on everyone's faces does a body good.

Santa, all I want for Christmas is a cure for MS, if not a cure then some relief.  This is what I ask for while I am the biggest kid in the mall sitting on Santa's lap.  Yes I know I look kinda scary & funny, but so what; do I not get a wish?  Santa, move your hand off of my butt, you know that it is not how you are suppose to do, then he winks and smiles.  If the mall was not crowed I would slap Santa, but that would probably scare the kids.

Well let us turn out the lights, the tree is still lit, the food is put up, the kids are asleep.  The family and cousins are gone to their hotels, the house is quiet.  I can hear Kenny Login's song "Please Celebrate Me Home" playing on the CD player that my niece left playing softly in her favorite Uncles room.  She has it on repeat it is her favorite song.  Her uncle is in Iraq and is suppose to come home soon, we hope.  My meds are kicking in.  To my PLM family MS is not going to win, WE ARE. "Merry Christmas, Love you all, and to all A Good Night"
