I said (to myself), "I will complete this essay by the end of the year." (Repeat for effect!) You see, I had been trying to to describe this "thing" for months. So with deadline employed, I found some words and posted them minutes before midnight.
I'm not sure that I've ever started the year feeling so satisfied. I'll have to give myself an assignment like this every year. (Accepting suggestions starting now!)
So, please take these first hours of 2011 to read it. It would bump up my satisfaction level big time. And doesn't everyone like to "get some satisfaction"...
