The Wii
momdukes
Tuesday, December 02, 2008 at 08:07 AMI have heard that this thing is great for those of us who have MS. I am not a fan of video games, but I am seriously considering buying one. When my girls were young video games was something that never insterest them, but now they are talking about getting mom the Wii to help me excerise, and a new TV of my own to hook it p to. So I will make out like a "fat rat" new TV, and the Wii. No complaints here!

We're giving Wii a try
Steve
Friday, December 05, 2008 at 10:25 AMPros: keeps my partner mentally stimulated, which helps fight the sedation caused by all the meds he takes
Cons: recent progression in the hands has made the 'B' trigger a bit difficult to use, causing frustration with games like bowling. Still happy with golf, though.
I'd be interested in hearing other's recommendations for Wii games that are friendly to people with limited manual dexterity.

Friday, December 05, 2008 at 10:41 AMThanks Steve. I know we're enjoying the Wii. Mandy and I are both getting hooked on it. I especially like the Tennis and Boxing, although bowling is getting to be more fun now that I've figured out how to correct my hook. Mandy's having a blast with it. Yesterday she spent time going through all the training screens as a precursor to doing the daily fitness test. I think this is going to be a great thing for both of us.

We bought a Wii about 6 months ago and it's great!! I never thought of it actually helping us MSer's. I guess I should do it more often!
Have fun with it!
