Coping with a Multiple Sclerosis Diagnosis in your Twenties

By Jake Crest, Health Guide Wednesday, April 15, 2009
"Can we talk for a moment?" he asked while waving to me over our backyard fence. I like this guy, a lot. He's quite a bit older than me, but fit as a fiddle. One of those guys who, when you look at him, you cross your fingers and silently hope that you look and feel as good when you're that age. Drop...

MS - A Whole New World.  When my oldest was in elementary, she and another student sang that song at a PTA function..  I am sitting here at my computer looking at the outfit that she was wearing that night.  I was cleaning out my closets, and I am thinking about having it sealed and put away.  Just more junk my husband says.  MS is a whole new world, inside of this world.  It has it's ups and downs.  But so does the regular world.  Those of us who have MS we look good, smell good, and we are smart.  We are just lucky enough to have the choice to choose when we want to do what!  Some people think that it is the end, oh so wrong, it is the beginning of another new thingie!  MS folks are stronger because everything that we do we have to give it 200% while regular folk only give 100%.  So does that mean we are better, we "read'm and weep."  So "Can we Talk"  Sure we can about anything you want, just ask me I know everything, at least that is what my brother-in-law says!Wink

Hello, Mr. Jake: I've been sitting here letting my mental rolledex search for anything llike your post. My memory ls not like it used to be, but I would have remembered it.I been carrying this verse with me long before I was dx.with MS.         I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13. I do know that knowledge of this chalenge we share can and will help us and others. I gave thanks to my LORD AND SAVIOR after years of symtoms ,that it is what it is, and it was't something worse.  I don't know if I helped you, but you have helped ME. You and your's are in my prayer's. GOD BLESS YOU........ Mike.....

I just found your posts....and I was diagnosed earlier this year. Before that, I was dealing only with the chronic daily migraines. I've never spoken to anyone who has these and it sounds like your wife may have experienced this? In addition to ms? But my husband is having problems adjusting to the MS and our relationship is suffering. I'm hoping that he'll read your posts but would you be open to perhaps exchanging emails or something with him or myself? It's difficult to find someone that he could relate to, especially with the migraines and MS.
